Suitability check: Does a heat pump suit my house?

It is not the year of construction that decides, but the flow temperature your house needs on the coldest day. Three details are enough for a first, honest assessment.

Everything at once? The heat pump calculator shows suitability, size, heating costs and federal state public subsidy in three steps.

1. How is your building insulated?
2. How is the heat distributed in the room?
3. In what location is the building?
Very suitable
Flow temperature on the coldest day
45 °C
Expected seasonal performance factor

Estimate based on typical values. The actual flow temperature is determined by the installer via an on-site heating load calculation.

Why the flow temperature decides everything: The hotter the heating water has to be, the more work the heat pump has to do and the worse its seasonal performance factor becomes. As a rule of thumb, every extra degree of flow temperature costs around 2,5 % efficiency. That is why it is often more effective to install larger radiators in two or three rooms than to insulate the whole house.
